This nonprofit organization creates opportunities for children and adults who are physically challenged to play team and individual sports. Bridge II Sports offers equipment, development of sports teams and coaching. Programs include tennis, wheelchair basketball, goalf, goal ball, track and field and sitting volleyball, among others.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The Raleigh Sidewinders is eastern North Carolina’s wheelchair Rugby team. The Raleigh Sidewinders are official members of the U.S. Quad Rugby Association.
The team is made up of individuals with disabilities that preclude their play in competitive, able-bodied sports. To qualify, players must have mobility impairments in their arms and legs.

Triangle Thunder is a recreational and competitive wheelchair basketball team representing the Greater Triangle Area Community of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Its goal is to foster participants’ social and societal well-being through vigorous physical exercise, skill formation, and healthy fellowship with other persons with disabilities.
