How To Take Care Of Your Heat

Some heating repairs should be left to a licensed HVAC professional. This is for your safety and the safety of your home.
  • Have your heating system checked once each year by a licensed HVAC professional.
  • Have the duct professionally cleaned every 5 years. Don’t fall prey to scams that convince you to do it more often.
  • If you have a furnace, change the air every three months, or wash it if it is electrostatic. Keep the air vents clean by vacuuming them.
  • If you have a boiler, check the pressure relief valve, and the burner flame once each month. Also check the water level and water pressure by looking at the gauge on the boiler. Drain your boiler every month by opening up the faucet on the bottom for about one minute.
