The Healing Place of Wake County

The Healing Place offers help to homeless individuals with substance abuse problems. While some shelters will not accept intoxicated individuals, The Healing Place will take them in. The Healing Place also offers services to help addicted individuals learn to live sober.

The Healing Place operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It accepts Wake County residents only.

The Healing Place offers:
The overnight shelter offers emergency shelter one night at a time. Walk-ups are not allowed, and beds are not reserved.
To enter the overnight shelter, you must be at the pickup location at a designated time. To find pickup locations and times, call the Men’s Facility at (919) 838-9800 or the Women’s Shelter at (919) 856-2550.
The men’s Sobering Up Center provides a safe environment for detox.
The Off-the-Street Program is the first step in the recovery program. The program guarantees beds for those who attend Recovery Dynamics classes five days a week and three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
The recovery program is a long-term, 12-step program for homeless individuals with alcohol and other drug problems. The program helps people with recovery and life skills.
The program offers medical services and referrals. The program also teaches residents how to take better care of themselves and prevent serious medical issues.
