The Raleigh Area Development Authority (RADA) provides free counseling and educational programs and services to help people who want to buy a home as well as people who already own their homes.

 
RADA is a not-for profit community economic development organization.
 
Some of its programs are:

Free pre-and post-purchase counseling services for first-time homebuyers.
  • Budget/ Credit Counseling
Counseling on establishing credit, budgeting, and repairing credit..
  • Mortgage Assistance
Help for prospective homebuyers to qualify for market rate financing, prepare loan documentation, and evaluate financing alternatives.
  • Foreclosure Mitigation
Advice from experienced foreclosure counselors.
  • Fraud Prevention
Presentations on how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud.
  • Financial Literacy
Information for consumers on financial procedures and terminology. Topics include consumer finance, commercial lending, credit improvement, and financial management.
  • How to Rebuild Your Credit
Assistance for consumers through the process of rebuilding credit status, maintaining a satisfactory credit status and realizing the dream of homeownership.
  • Individual Development Accounts (IDA)
Budget and credit counseling and help with a program of matched savings for individuals earning minimum wage who want to buy homes.
  • RADA Small Business Solutions
Assistance for small businesses through the process of receiving financing.
