A carpool is two or more people who ride together in one of their vehicles. They may take turns driving, or everyone may chip in to cover the costs of gas and wear and tear for one person who drives most of the time.

 

A vanpool can include up to 15 people who use a van supplied by an organization. Riders pay a monthly fee, and the driver rides for free.
