Planning to go to college, applying for financial aid, or adjusting to college life can be a challenge. Young people and their families can get easy-to-understand information about attending and paying for college at the Chavis Community Center, 505 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Raleigh.
Representatives of colleges and universities in Raleigh will conduct information sessions at Chavis on two nights each months, providing an introduction to college and financial aid. The sessions are free and open to all.
These sessions will take place 6-8 p.m. each night:
- February 7 - College Connection (General information about college.)
- February 9 - Financial Aid (An overview of financial aid options.)
- March 6 - College Connection
- March 8 - Financial Aid
- April 3 - College Connection
- April 5 - Financial Aid
- May 1 - College Connection
- May 3 - Financial Aid

The Raleigh College Center is sponsored by the Raleigh Colleges and Community Collaborative. The Collaborative plans to open additional College Centers this year at other convenient locations in Raleigh, including a computer lab where students can receive assistance as they fill out applications for college admission and financial aid.
