Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB)

This program provides financial assistance as an incentive for young people to sign up for the military.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible, you must:

Be a high school graduate
Sign up for any branch of the military
Complete at least 2 years of active duty, or serve part-time in the Reserves or National Guard.

How much is it worth?

The amount changes from year to year. In 2009, the amount ranged from $317/month for Reserve or National Guard to $1101/month for 3 years of active duty.
