Each branch of the service offers a Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) which pays for a portion of qualified educational expenses.

Elilgibility

A student may be eligible if:

They request SLRP benefits at the time they enlist
They score a 50 or higher on the Armed Forces Qualifications Test (AFQT)
They or a parent have qualified Federal education loans such as Perkins, Stafford, PLUS or consolidation loans.
They meet the other requirements determined by the branch of service they’re in.

Value

The amount of the benefit depends on the branch of service a student chooses. Ask a military recruiter for more specific information.

How to apply

A student must request this benefit at the time they enlist. Military recruiters will provide information about how to apply.
