Contact Your Child's School

If you have problems with your child's school and you don't think you're getting anywhere with the principal or staff, contact your local school board.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself, other parents, and school officials.

  • What is the school doing about No Child Left Behind? How is the school making improvements?
  • Can school officials explain the report card results to us? If they can't, can the school board explain the results?
  • If our children's schools are failing, how can we get help if we want to transfer our children to another school?
  • What is the school doing to make sure after-school programs and tutoring programs are available?
  • How can parents be involved in creating after-school programs or making them stronger?
  • Does the school have funding plans if there are federal or state cutbacks? What will happen to our children's after-school and tutoring programs if the money disappears?
  • What is the school district doing to get and keep good teachers?
  • How can I get involved? How can other parents get involved? Are other parents meeting about this?
