Wake County School Registration for Non-English-Speaking Students

If your child’s primary language is not English, he or she will have to take a test in English proficiency. The test is required by the state of North Carolina. The results of the test will help the school find out how much language support your child will need.

 
If your child is entering kindergarten in Wake County Public Schools, you must register your child with his her base school first. To find out where your child’s base school is, contact the Office of Student Assignment at (919) 850-1921.
