Mentoring Programs for At-Risk Youth in Wake County

Young people can be affected by all kinds of experiences that put them at risk, according to research compiled by the National Conference of State Legislatures. These experiences include cultural influences, peer pressure and circumstances such as poverty, homelessness, foster care, lack of parent involvement, domestic violence, bullying at school, and detention. Those who feel hopeless, depressed or disconnected from others can turn to harmful and risky behavior.

A variety of mentoring programs for youth in Wake County can help improve lives of at-risk youth. Many of these programs are also open to any young individual seeking mentoring services.

This program focuses on improving the lives of at-risk youth of all ages who have experienced physical abuse, drug abuse, poverty, violence, as well as other negative issues that affect youth.

The mission of the nonprofit is to provide a safe, structured and positive environment for youth to thrive, while focusing on education, self-esteem, self-awareness and life skills.
