4-H is the nation's oldest and largest youth-serving organization! It offers a fun development program for youth ages 5 to 19 who get to learn by doing.
If you become a 4-H member, you will decide what to learn and do as you explore your project. You can make something, develop a skill, raise and/or train an animal, and much more.
Joining the 4-H program costs nothing, although there might be some minimal expenses determined by the individual clubs. You can also start your own club with five youth and two adults or leaders.
Wake County 4-H has also several other projects and initiative such as:
- Juvenile justice
- Group life skills experience
- Pregnancy and substance abuse prevention programs
- Technology-based programs
- Internship opportunities
