If your child has a learning disability, it’s especially important to stay organized. Encourage your child to use these organizing strategies to keep track of class notes and homework assignments.
Write reminders on sticky notes, or make a “to-do” list each day in a notebook.
Divide notebooks into sections for each subject you use them for. Use dividers, different colored sticky notes, or just fold down the edges of paper to separate your notes and assignments into different categories.
Categorize papers and handouts from school. Get a three ring binder and punch holes in handouts and assignments from class. Use different colored dividers or sticky notes to separate the pages into different categories.
Use technology to keep track of your schedule or class notes. For example, type up important class notes so that you can have them handy whenever you’re online. Also, organizer software like Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar can help you organize your schedule.
